About This Site — Who We Are and How This Works

The short, honest version

This site is operated by JM Marketing Co, an independent referral service. We are not a contractor, landscaper, plumber, waterproofing company, or engineering firm, and we don’t perform any of the work described on this site.

What we actually do: research drainage and water problems specific to Louisville and Jefferson County, publish honest guides about them, and connect homeowners and renters who contact us with vetted, independent local professionals who do this work for a living.

How the matching works

1. You submit the quote form on any page.
2. We review what you describe and route your request to an independent local pro whose trade and service area match it — a drainage contractor for yard and grading work, a waterproofing specialist for foundations, a plumber for sump pump work.
3. That pro contacts you directly to schedule an inspection or estimate.

From that point on, your relationship is with the pro: their estimate, their pricing, their contract, their warranty, their licensing and insurance. We don’t set or guarantee prices, and we don’t supervise or warrant their work. We encourage you to get multiple bids on any significant job — including bids from companies we didn’t refer.

One thing we do that’s unusual for a referral site: when your problem is MSD’s responsibility rather than a contractor’s — public drainage, sewer backups, programs like free backflow prevention — we say so and point you to MSD’s 24/7 line, (502) 540-6000, instead of selling you a referral. Sending you to the right place is the product.

How we make money

The service is free for homeowners and renters. The independent professionals we refer pay us for the connection — either per referral or as a flat fee. That’s the entire business model. We don’t sell your information to lead brokers or list-builders, and your request goes to the matched pro, not to a bidding pool of strangers.

This compensation means we have an incentive for referrals to go well — pros stop paying for bad matches, and homeowners stop calling a site that burned them. Honest matching is the product.

What “vetted” means here

Before we refer a pro, we verify the basics: that they’re an established business actually operating in the Louisville area, that they carry the licensing and insurance applicable to their trade in Kentucky and Louisville Metro, and that there isn’t a public record of unresolved consumer complaints that would give us pause. Vetting is a screen, not a guarantee — you should still check reviews, ask for proof of insurance, and trust your judgment on any estimate.

What we will never do

• Pretend to be a local contractor or waterproofing company.
• Post fake reviews or testimonials, here or anywhere.
• Claim licenses, certifications, or staff we don’t have.
• Invent statistics or “local data” — every local fact on this site comes from public sources (MSD, the National Weather Service, the Kentucky Geological Survey, census data, local archives, and industry cost data), and we cite or qualify them. If we can’t verify something, we don’t publish it.
• Sell your contact information to anyone other than the single pro we match you with.

Your privacy

When you submit the quote form, we collect what’s needed to make the match: your name, contact info, ZIP/neighborhood, and your description of the problem. We share your request with the matched professional and use aggregate, anonymized data (e.g., “how many sump pump requests came from 40219 this month”) to improve the service. We don’t sell personal information, and you can ask us to delete your request data at any time by contacting us below.
